this vacuum is from the 80s because the hood is plastic. and has a 7 amp motor,also has a replacement bag.

Yes must be from the mid-late 70’s based on the specialization in shag although something about the Eureka logo on the bag looks like it may be a little later…maybe this was from when that slanting letter “Eureka” logo was introduced.

I just pulled one of these out of the trash yesterday, looks a little bit different though…
It works perfect now, all it needed was oil, a belt, and a light bulb…

how many amps is the motor? i have a eureka dialanap 1458 with a 4 amp motor. it’s a really good vac. really grooms the carpet.

I can shed some light on this: The name as it appears in the Arial Bold font appeared around the time of their 75th anniversary in 1984, although its usage was initially overlapped with the previous “electric E” logo. The slanted version of the logo appeared around 1989, the company’s 80th anniversary.

The first thing you should do is unplug the vacuum before you remove the bottom plate especially seeing that it has the power switch on the handle, unlike where they are usually on the foot release on Eureka.

there are 3 motors&roller brush types in the old&new Eureka F&G vacuums a big,mid and tiny motor the mid and big ones will do better then any kirby when they VG1,VG2 roller brushes the vg2 is chrome steel 1 row of brushes the VG1 is aluminum with 1 or 2 rows of brushes the wood roller and tiny motor
